Julie G Shimmer Island Nail Polish

Today I am wearing Julie G Nail Polish in Shimmer Island.  I purchased this from Riteaid for $3.99 about a month ago.  It is has sat begging to be swatched...just was not feeling it since here in upstate NY all it has done is rain.  Today the sun was out and it called out to me.  Please, please, pretty please let me bask in the sunshine....so I can shine so bright...lol

I would describe this a lime base with lots of lemon shimmers dancing about.  It is opaque in three coats with no visible nail line.  The polish applied flawlessly and dried very fast.  I tried a couple stamping samples with it...no go it is to thin to show up on black, blue and even white.  That made me sad because it is such a beautiful and sparkly color.

This brand so far, has exceeded all my expectations in wear, application and drying time.  I encourage all nail junkies to give them a try. I have gotten five or more days of wear from everyone I have tried to date.

This is shown with one coat Seche Clear, three coats of polish and one coat Seche Vite.Image

Orly Naughty

Today I am wearing Orly Naughty.  I picked it up at Beauty Supply Plus for buy one get one free because of the old bottle style.  I was thrilled at getting such a deal but that is where my happiness ended.

The polish is part of the Orly 2010 'Tis the Season holiday collection.  It is reminiscent of the famed Chanel Vamp polish.

I really liked the color...so dark, sexy and vampy.  The polish is a jelly-creme finish and is a very dark burgundy color and looks black indoors. Where the problem begins is application, finish and wear.  It took three coats and still had bald spots, was very thin and runny, it bubbled like mad and tip wear after 8 hours....six of them I was sleeping.  I am taking it off after less than 24 hours of wear...totally disappointed in this polish :-(

It is shown here with Seche Base, 3-4 coats of polish, two coats of Seche Vite to help with the bubbling (did not help) and Pure Ice Never Satisfied on the accent nail.Image

Color Club Editorial

Color club - Editorial is from the Color Club In True Fashion Collection (Fall 2012).  There several other similiar polishes on the market that are dupes:  Chanel - Peridot, China Glaze - Rare and Radient (Bohemian Collection)  and OPI - Just spotted the Lizard (Spiderman Collection)....just to named a few.

Image

Editorial is a green gold duochrome that dances on my nails.  The formula is amazing and applied flawlessly.  I highly recommend this polish to anyone who is in love with duochromes.
It is shown here with Seche Clear, two coats of polish, and top coated with Seche Vite.

Orly Smolder

LOVE LOVE LOVE this color...I searched high and low for this polish and was not disappointed to say the least.  After checking many locally Sally Beauty Supplies, I finally found this at Beauty Supply Plus in Great Northern Mall.  I paid $6.95 for it and it is worth every cent spent.  This polish is part of Orly's Fired Up Fall 2012 Collection.

It is a gorgeous dark red/wine shimmer polish...I think I see a little purple in there too.  This polish took two coats to be opaque...formula was flawless and no brush marks to be had.

I think this maybe my all time favorite polish in this color range....simply beautiful.

Review: Elevation Nail Polish Mount Agepsta - Indie Polish

Here is the second polish I won from Elevation Polishes - Mount Agepsta.

Here is a link to her site: www.elevationpolish.bigcartel.com and to her personal blog www.makeupmom123.com

This polish is really beautiful and has real diamond, sapphire, amethyst and quartz powder in the polish...it is slighty holographic but nothing like spectaflair.

It is medium blue in color and application was easy, the formula was perfect in consistency and dried fairly fast.

This polish is a limited edition and is no longer available but Jini Patton, has many beautiful hand crafted options to choose from.

I applied two coats for opaqueness and top coated with Seche Vite.

Elevation Nail Polish Dark in the Park

Last week I won one of the many prizes offered in the huge multiblogger giveaway.  I won two beautiful polishes from Elevation Polish - Dark in the Park and Mount Agepsta.  I will be highlighting Dark in the Park for this post.
The  polish is a beautiful gray color with specks of a dark grey though out and purple/copper shimmer undertones.  The only thing that comes to mind is a wet river rock on the sunlight and all the different minerals glistening in the sun.
The formula was thin and took three coats that were fast driving.  Everything dried smooth and perfect.  I really love this color and is a definite Fall/Winter color for me.
If you are interested in purchasing from this Indie Polish Maker:  www.elevationpolish.bigcartel.com

Shown here with one coat Seche Clear Base, three coats of polish, Pure Ice-Never Satisfied on accent nail and Seche Vite top coat

Sinful Colors My Buoyfriend

Sinful Colors My Buoyfriend - Sail La Vie Collection
June 2, 2013

I purchased last weekend from Walgreens from $1.99.  I picked up all the colors expect for Cross My Heart.

This polish is a creme finish that I would describe as Blue/Purple in color.  The formula was thick on this one.  I added polish thinner to make it more workable.

Overall, I like this color and received many compliments on it. I uses two coats...almost got away with one.

It is shown here with Seche Clear base, two coats of polish, Seche Vite Top Coat and Finger Paints Easel-y Entertained on accent nail.

Julie G Sunset Kiss Nail Color

I purchased this color from Riteaid for $4.99 last week.  I have never used this brand before and I am kicking myself for not trying it out until now.

The polish applies with no effort at all and is opaque in two coats.  The formula on this polish is flawless.

Sunset Kiss is an amazing cherry red foil like finish with no visible brush strokes.  I would say that is also a glass fleck polish.  This picture was taken on day three of wear.  As you can see, there is no visible wearing on the tips.

I am very happy with the purchase of this polish and I must really like the color if  I am now on day four and have not taken it off yet...lol.  I usually change my nail color every other day.

It is shown here with Seche Clear Base, 2 coats of polish and a coat of Seche Vite.
